Maryetta was born on April 26, 1929, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Russell and Marie (Loehrke) Lefever.  While growing up during the great depression along with one brother, Richard Lefever and two sisters, Betty Myers and Bonnie Dudding, who preceded her in death.  She loved them dearly and spoke of the often.  It was told of the five mile walk, to and from school, that she and her brother and sisters did every day, rain or shine.  In their case it was true.  Maryetta loved her mother and called for her at the end.

Maryetta was the mother of five children; Jerry Welch (Janet), Larry Welch (Detsyl) Sherry Moneer (Steve, whom preceded her in death), Mary Matyas (Steve) and Debra Allen (Darrell).

Maryetta loved her twelve grandchildren and would cover everyone in her conversations with anyone that listened.  They are as follows, Larry (Joey) Welch (Jennie), Bobbi Jo Moneer, Neil Johnson (Amelia), Darrell Allen, II (Leighann),  Laura Fox (Joe), Jerrod Welch (Lauren), Jasen Matyas (Jackie), Steve Moneer (Shelby), Amanda Rosenkrans, Casey Welch (Katy), Collin Welch, and Amelia Godfrey (Grant).  They all loved her as much as she loved them.

With her inspiration our trivia pursuit team, "We Are Family", was formed.  Trivia pursuit was Maryetta's favorite thing to do.  She was an encyclopedia of information and she had access to three generations of family teammates that loved her.  Her favorite event was the Mark Twain Museum trivia nights where her team was always competitive.  The ages of the team ranged from 18 t0 88.  "We Are Family" won such an event one night and Maryetta was always proud of that.

Maryetta was married to Robert Welch on December 11, 1949, in Hannibal.  There was a tornado that hit Hannibal that day and they always joked there has been one ever since.  They laughed about this often as well as many other life experiences they shared.  They loved each other dearly.  Together they were the best parents God ever blessed children with.  She spent her life as a full time mother and later as a grandmother and has numerous great grandchildren.  There was no doubt when you talked to Maryetta that she loved her family. Maryetta will be forever missed by all whom were touched by her.

Maryetta was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hannibal.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Maryetta's Grandchildren.
