Larry Weiseman Obituary

Larry Weiseman, 81, died March 3, 2023, at his home in Salisbury.  His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.  He was born August 17, 1941, in rural Salisbury, MO to Leonard and Erna (Sanders) Weiseman.

He was a lifelong resident of Salisbury and graduated from Salisbury High School in 1959.  He served in the Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969.  Larry was a carpenter, craftsman and self-employed carpet and flooring installer who worked throughout Missouri.  Larry married Martha (Ware) of Higbee on April 3, 1971.  He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Larry’s love for fast cars was nearly equaled by his dislike of speed limits.  He enjoyed hosting fish fries and cookouts.  The more friends and family that came to share his hospitality, the happier he was.  Larry enjoyed fishing with his brother, Jerry, and cousins.  Annual canoe trips were another favorite pastime.  During summers he would take vanloads of the kids and their friends to Worlds of Fun and baseball games.  He cherished the time he got to spend with his grandsons.  Later in life you could find Larry, Martha and their dog Daisy passing time watching the Missouri River flow by.  He was a loving, caring man that touched the hearts of everyone he met.  His contagious laugh and smile will be missed by all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Joanne and a sister-in-law Mary Helen Boles.  Larry is survived by his wife Martha; daughter Lisa of Moberly; son Ryan and his wife Stacy and two grandsons Logan and Henry of Austin, Texas; one heartbroken Yorkie named Daisy; brother Jerry and Dorothy of Salisbury; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John and Janice Spilman of Higbee; Mike and Linda Spilman of Higbee; Nancy and Eddie Thomas of Moberly; Raymon Boles of Moberly; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special thanks to all the medical professionals that took exceptional care of Larry and Martha in the final years of his life and to Pastor Geutz for making regular visits to share scripture and communion.

A visitation service will be held at 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday, March 6 at Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  All are invited for lunch and fellowship in the church hall following the service.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel of Hannibal and local arrangements and services are being handled by the Summerville Funeral Home of Salisbury.
