Kathryn Elaine Stutsman

Elaine Stutsman, age 84, of Lewistown, MO formerly of Hannibal, MO passed away at 12:25 pm Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, MO.  

A visitation celebrating Elaine's life will be held 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel of Hannibal.  Cremation arrangements will follow the visitation.

Elaine was born on October 29, 1937, in LaBelle, Missouri, on the Hirsch family farm, the daughter of Joseph and Mable (Byers) Hirsch.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Ludwig (Bob) of Quincy, IL and Yvonne Pealer of St. Louis, MO; son, Art Stutsman (Penny) of Paris, TX; grandchildren; Tara Evans, Cassie Stutsman, Joey Stutsman, Matt Stutsman, Eric East, Cody Cook, James Lee Garner, Jan Donavant, Steffani Lautenschlagher, Jimmie Sherwood, Ashley Stutsman, Austin Stutsman, Ashtin Stutsman and Justin Russell; numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by a son, Richard Stutsman, grandson, Calup Cook, three sisters, Bonnie Ashford, Joanne Tungate and Mary Hines and son-in-law, Stan Pealer.

Elaine worked and retired as an Assistant Manager for Big Lots in Hannibal. 

Elaine grew up enjoying the time spent helping her father on the family farm. Some of Elaine's hobbies included fishing, playing softball, dancing and playing cards. Elaine truly loved her children and grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Newark Cemetery, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
