Helen Jo Ebers

Helen Jo Ebers, age 65, of New London, MO passed away at 7:15 pm Monday, August 9, 2021, at  her home.  

Private family services will be held at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel of Hannibal.

Helen was born on November 13, 1955, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Theodore and Anna Marjorie (Boling) Broemmer.

She was united in marriage to Billy Ray Ebers on March 11, 1977, in Hannibal, MO.  He preceded her in death on June 13, 2020. 

Survivors include her daughter, Kerri Zumwalt (Doug) of New London, MO; son, Brian Ebers of Monroe City, MO;  five grandchildren, Camille Zumwalt, Kiara Zumwalt, Emma Zumwalt, Brielle Ebers and Evan Zumwalt; one brother, Ted Broemmer and three sisters, Marilyn Oglesby, Shirley Kolthoff and Jenny Johnson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ebers was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Stover and brother, Edward Broemmer.

Helen graduated from Mark Twain High School and previously worked as a dispatcher for Rall's Co. 911 before her retirement. 

Away from work, Helen enjoyed reading, puzzles and taking walks.  Family was everything to Helen, she cherished the time spent with her children and especially her grandchildren along with watching MMA fighting with her son and watching Anime with her daughter and grandchildren.

Helen was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal.
