Gloria Emma Adams, age 77, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 6:50 pm Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Beth Haven Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel . Pastor Kim Parker will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation celebrating Gloria's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Gloria was born on October 23, 1945, in Lexington, MO, the daughter of Elmer and Agnes (Czeschin) Nieweg.
She was united in marriage to Howard Thomas Adams on August 4, 1974 in Gladstone, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 25, 2019.
Survivors include her children, Michael Adams (Christy) of Hannibal, MO, Murrell Adams (Tamara) of Fulton, MO, Bradley Adams (Kristin) of Quincy, IL and Terri Adams (Harry White) of Palmyra, MO.
Other survivors include her grandchildren, Tiffany, Cassandra, Samantha, Kimberly, Mackenzie, Jase, Kendall, Kinsley, Brynleigh, Jessica and Dustin, twin grandchildren on the way, twenty two great grandchildren and a great- great grandchild on the way; brother, Garland Nieweg (Mary Ann) of CO and sister, Carol Spencer (Richard) of IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant brother.
Gloria graduated from high school and then began her life first as a wife, then mother and then grandmother. She also worked in customer service for Swiss Colony before retiring.
Gloria was passionate about morning prayer. In her younger years, Gloria took pleasure in gardening and camping with her husband and children. She was an avid KC Chiefs fan and enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel. After she entered the nursing home, she had some very fun times playing Bingo. Being with family meant the world to her and she will truly be missed.
Gloria was a faithful member of Park United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the UMW and church choir.
Pallbearers will be Murrell Adams, Bradley Adams, Michael Adams, Jase Adams, Seth McBride and Brad Morrison.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Park United Methodist Church, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
