Gerald Williams Obituary

Gerald L. Williams, age 78, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 11:30 pm Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at his home.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Gerald was born on August 21, 1943, in San Jose, California the son of Jesse and Anna (Jurick) Williams.

He was united in marriage to Linda Walsh on October 9, 2004 in Lake Tahoe, CA.

Survivors include his wife of  the home; son, Donald Fortner of Hannibal, MO; two daughters, Debbi Bass (Ray) of Casa Grande, AZ, and Dawn Fortner of Monroe City, MO; brother, Joe Williams of Salem, OR and sister, Loretta Moshier of Santaquin, UT.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Randy Bass, Kendra Sterling, Shylee Endicott, Kalyn Durbin, Blake Lantz, Kallie Bass and Brianna Williams; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Williams and grandchild, Kelsey Bass.

After graduating from high school Gerald went on to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era.

Professionally Gerald worked as an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Gerald was a true outdoorsman.  His passion for the outdoors included fishing, boating and hunting. Some of his favorite travels were going to Disneyland, Hawaii and living in Alaska for twenty five years.  Mastering his barbequing skills and spending time with his family meant the world to him.
