Cordie August Kramer, 77, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 11:50 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019, at Beth Haven Nursing Home.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. There will be no services held at this time.
Cordie was born on July 6, 1944, in Hannibal, MO the son of Orville and Maudie (Parsons) Kramer.
He was united in marriage to Rhoda Bailey Link on August 26, 1972, in Hannibal, MO. She survives him.
Other survivors include a stepson, James Link (Loretta) of Hannibal, MO; stepdaughter, Shellie Lamberson (Truman) of Columbia, MO; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren, sister, Odessa Horstmeyer (Bud) of Sikeston, MO; brother-in-law, Roger Bailey (Barbara) of Hannibal, MO; two nephews; three nieces; five great nephews; and three great nieces.
Mr. Kramer was preceded in death by his parents.
Cordie worked as an engineer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad before his retirement after thirty eight years of service.
Upon graduating from Hannibal High School in 1959, Cordie proudly served his country in the United States Navel Reserves during the Vietnam Era.
Away from work, Cordie and Rhoda enjoyed traveling in their RV and visiting national parks across the United States. Cordie was an avid gun collector and marksman. He was a member of the Salt River Gun Club and enjoyed his trips to the gun range. When time allowed, Cordie enjoyed watching westerns with Gunsmoke being a favorite of his. Cordie loved to visit with family and friends and always had a story to tell.
Cordie’s biggest love was his wife, family and dog “Spanky” that passed away last year.
Mr. Kramer was a Christian by faith and attended Southside Christian Church in his younger years.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
