Burlene was born to Audy and Katy Potter Krider on March 12, 1936 in Ava, MO.

She married Robert O. Parker on July 3, 1955 in Brunot, MO. He survives her.

Other survivors include her children Lea Ann Arnold (Craig) of Naperville, IL, Linda Youse (Jim), Robert B. Parker (Denise), and William O. Parker (Lisa) all of Hannibal, MO; brother Paul Krider; sisters, Donna Ward and Sue Greenway; brother-in-law, William G. Parker; sister-in-law, Faye Krider; grandchildren, Andrew Arnold (Megan), Alex Arnold (Samantha), Lauren Youse, Lissie Wade (Jordan), Justin Parker (Erica), Brandt Parker (Erica), Tony Parker (Lyndsay), and Michael Parker; great-grandchildren, Brynn, Brooks, Hunter, Jack, Jett, Amelia, Ava, Pearson, Easton, Lyla, Elizabeth, and Ella; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Burlene was preceded in death by her brothers, Benny, Elmer, and Buck Krider; and her sisters, Frankie Brodhacker and Penny Swank.

Burlene graduated in 1953 from Piedmont High School. In 1955, she married the love of her life Robert O. and through this union her journey in life began as a wife, mother, and homemaker.

Mrs. Parker’s priorities in life were God, followed by her relationship with husband Bob, family and her church family. Burlene seldom missed the opportunity to prepare after church Sunday lunches when all the family would gather in their home. Occasions like birthdays and holidays were special times to be celebrated. She looked forward to the annual Krider family reunion, Memorial Day celebrations in Brunot, MO, and family events. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, and as her family grew, she had the ability to make each one feel special. Her hobbies included quilting, reading, and singing with her church and family. She always had a song in her heart and a smile on her face. She lived each day to the fullest.

Burlene was a devout member of Immanuel Baptist Church.  She had a heart for children’s ministries, reflected through her participation in VBS, Sunday School and Church Training Union. She sang in the choir for many years. She and Bob led an adult couples Sunday School class and for several years have actively participated in Operation Christmas Child. Bob and Burlene have been avid supporters of Hannibal LaGrange University, YMCA, Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, and many other community services.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Arnold, Alex Arnold, Justin Parker, Brandt Parker, Jordan Wade, Tony Parker, Michael Parker, Hunter Parker, and Jack Parker.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church or Hannibal-LaGrange University, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
