Anna Ruth “Ann” Brosi, 87, of Hannibal, MO went to be with her Lord & Savior at 1:20 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Pastor Brandon Brosi will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation celebrating Ann’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Anna Ruth was born on July 29, 1932, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Godfrey B. and Vera Lucille (McDowell) Yarbrough. She was united in marriage to Roy W. Brosi on March 18, 1951, in Hannibal, MO. Roy preceded her in death on November 10, 2011.
Survivors include three children, Terry Brosi and wife Carol of Goldsboro, NC, Brenda Benson and husband Danny of Monroe City, MO, and Bruce Brosi and wife Jeanne of Hannibal, MO; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brosi was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene, Godfrey B., Fontaine, and William; four sisters, Wilma, Katie, Dorothy and Virginia.
Mrs. Brosi worked most of her life as a homemaker, raising her family and taking care of the home and animals is what Ann cherished the most. Ann was an outstanding cook and always had supper ready for her family. This tradition carried on as her family grew older, Ann loved to host holiday dinners and homemade noodles were her specialty.
One of Ann’s many ministries in life was visiting area retirement centers with her sister Dorothy Tate singing and playing gospel music to the residents. Ann attended several Hannibal churches in her lifetime; United Methodist, both Nazarene churches and the Free Methodist, where she was active in the choir, VBS and teaching Sunday school. Ann and Roy enjoyed traveling to various parts of the United States, but one of her most talked about trips was their trip to the Holy Lands.
The family wished to thank Pleasant View Assisted Living facility for the outstanding care that they provided.
Pallbearers will be Terry Brosi, Bruce Brosi, Danny Benson, Aaron Benson, Glenn Thome, and Joe Tate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet Cemetery Association or the NEMO Humane Society, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
