Winfred Clay Timbrook

Winfred C. "Tim" Timbrook, 99, of Hannibal, MO, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, December 22, 2014, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Bro. Justin Mosher and Pastor Jamie Page will officiate. Burial with full military honors provided by the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be in the Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Tim was born October 14, 1915, in Clarence MO, to Tony Clay Timbrook, and Cecile Mae (Purdy) Timbrook. Mr. Timbrook graduated from Hannibal High School, and later married the love of his life, Louise Vale (Canote) Timbrook on April 9, 1939. Survivors include a daughter, Jovanna S. Timbrook of Hannibal, MO; sister, Evelyn Arterburn of Albuquerque, NM; daughter-in-law, Linda Timbrook of New London, MO; grandson, Jamie (Lisa) Page; granddaughter, Marni (Adam) Tuhro; great grandchildren; Kyla Page, Rachel Page, Ethan Page, Hollie Page, Justin Tuhro, and Lauren Tuhro, and niece, Marcie DeLaporte. In addition to his parents, Mr. Timbrook was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Timbrook; son, Kenneth Clay Timbrook; brother, Joe B. Timbrook; sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Geronsin and Virginia Tillett; brothers-in-law, Tex Arterburn, Bill Tillettand Harold Geronsin; great grand daughter, Katie E. Page, and nephew, Terry DeLaporte. Mr. Timbrook served his country during WWII in the Army, under General Patton and was active in the Battle of the Bulge. Following active duty in the military, Mr. Timbrook was a U.S. Postal Service employee. He later retired after serving for 42-years as a postal carrier, with 25-years walking the downtown Hannibal route. Mr. Timbrook was also an active member of the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Hannibal, where he taught a men's Sunday school class, sang in church choir, and faithfully served in various capacities for many years. Mr. Timbrook also enjoyed singing in the Mark Twain Men's Chorale Choir as a bass singer for several years. W.C. was a member of the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fifth Street Baptist Church, in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
