William G. (Bill) Stout, 83, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Hannibal Regional Hospital as the result of a fall on July 4th.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Smith Funeral Home and Chapel in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
Bill was born February 23, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Thomas B. Stout and Emma Loutenhizer Stout.
He graduated from Hannibal High School in 1949 and attended Hannibal LaGrange College.
On May 19, 1955, he was married to Joan Waggener, the fifth daughter & eleventh child of William Taylor and Edna Hutcherson Waggener. She survives him. The couple met at a dance when he had returned from the Army and she was working at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Lynn Niemann Folowell (Bill) of Gunnison, CO and Suzanne Marie Cason (Mike) of Sugar Land, TX; one grandson, Sgt. Brandon William Niemann (Kathy) U.S. Army; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Kali Ann Niemann; one niece, Jennifer Stout of Mt. Zion, IL and one nephew, Larry Stout (Retha) of St. Peters, MO.
Mr. Stout was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Stout; grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bill loved all sports, especially St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. For many years, he and his wife were avid walkers and bicyclists. He was retired after working forty four years for Wabash/Norfolk & Southern Railroad. Mr. Stout was a member of Clover Road Christian Church
