Wanda Lehenbauer (Davis), 95, of New London, MO, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at her home.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation scheduled for Monday, June 22, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Eric Carlson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Grand View Burial Park.
The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Wanda was born on September 26, 1930, in Fulton, MO to David and Elizabeth Davis. Wanda graduated from Hannibal High School in 1948 and received her bachelor's degree from Quincy University.
Wanda married Al Lehenbauer on July 8, 1951, in Hannibal, MO. She taught kindergarten and first grade at St. John’s Lutheran School for 26 years.
Wanda will be remembered as an avid Hannibal Pirate football fan, listening every Friday night to KHBL. She was a prayer warrior for her family and community and was well known at her St. John’s congregation for her coconut cream pie. Reading was a favorite pastime as well as sewing many outfits and quilts throughout the years. She loved her flower beds, gardening, and canning, especially tomatoes. She was known for sending her grandchildren Nana sermons. She cherished the comforts of home with her family gathered around her dining room table enjoying her home cooked meals. A lively game of pitch was hilarious as she was a fierce competitor. She and Al enjoyed many trips at home and abroad.
Wanda was a member of St. John Ladies Aid and Altar Guild and a member and past president of Chapter KV P.E.O.
She is survived by her three daughters: Linda (Dana) Ruhl of New London, MO, Leslie (Terry) Holthus of Wahoo, NE and Lisa Bridgeman of Quincy, IL; grandchildren: Heidi (Fred) Newell, Matthew Ruhl, Stacey (Sam) Klein, Phillip (Todd) Hoover-Holthus, Jared (Elizabeth) Bridgeman, Jordan (Megan) Bridgeman, and Justen (Heather) Bridgeman and sixteen great grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Al, her parents, and her brother Bill Davis.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
