Wanda Sue Brooks, 73, of Hannibal, MO passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017, at 12:30 a.m. at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel in Hannibal. Rev. Jason Young will officiate. Burial will follow in the Flint Hill Cemetery in rural New London, MO. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Wanda was born on June 17, 1943, the daughter of James Delmar and Francis (Mix) Conrad. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Wayne Brooks on October 22, 1959 in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death. Survivors include four sons, Donnie (Teri) Brooks, Billy (Valerie) Brooks, Danny (Dawn) Brooks, Tony (Vickie) Brooks, all of Hannibal, MO; three daughters, Treasa (Gary) Woodson of Monroe City, MO, Pooh Melanie (Joe) Saresky of Keota, IA, and Lorrie (Chris) Lock of Hannibal, MO; two brothers, Perry (Caroline) Conrad, of Hannibal, MO, and Ray Conrad of Springfield, IL; three sisters, Doris Conrad of Hannibal, MO, Claudette Hogan of LaGrange, MO and Cheryl Shannon of Hannibal, MO; thirty grandchildren, fifty-seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by one son, Stevie Brooks, three brothers, Aaron Conrad, Russell Conrad, and Frankie Conrad, two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Conrad and Joyce Conrad, and two great grandsons. One of Wanda's biggest joys in life was raising her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Wanda also enjoyed reading, traveling, and watching her favorite TV shows Jeopardy and Downton Abbey. Wanda was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Hannibal, MO. Pallbearers will be Chris Brooks, Billy Brooks, Jr., Daniel Brooks, Jr., Shawn Brown, Dustin Royal, and Joseph Saresky. Honorary pallbearers will be the remainder of Mrs. Brooks's grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
