Tony Joedean Deney

Tony Joedean Deney, age 70, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 1:29 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, MO.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Tony was born on June 20, 1955, in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Willard and Mary Jo (Maple) Deney.

Survivors include his daughter, Tisha Deney of Saint Louis, MO; two sons, Tony "Little Tony" Deney and Justin Deney, both of Hannibal, MO; sister, Terri Jo Maple; two granddaughters, MacKayla and Sophia; and great-granddaughter, Dayla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, James Powell, Rusty Maple, Randy Deney, Dean Deney, and Johnny Joe Deney; and one sister, Debbie Deney.

Professionally Tony worked as a welder.

Tony was known for being the life of the party. He lived loudly and unapologetically, with a taste for good times, loud laughs, and long nights. He was a great friend to many. Those who knew him well knew there was a big heart in there.

He loved the outdoors, from deer hunting in the early morning chill to casting a line on a quiet river. He also took pride in growing food in his garden.Tony’s memory will live on in the stories his friends and family will tell—some wild, some warm, and all unforgettable.
