Shirley D. (Campfield) Miller

Shirley D. Miller, 82, of Hannibal, passed away at 10:18 a.m. at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019, at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Officiating will be Rev. Larry W. Taylor.

The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel of Hannibal.

Shirley was born on June 27, 1936, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Ernest and Virgie (Bent) Campfield.

She was united in marriage to James E. “Butch” Miller at her parent’s home in Hannibal on June 6, 1954.

Survivors include her husband, Butch Miller; children, Mike Miller (Ann), Vicki McLain (Richard), Brian Miller (Mary), Lauri Britt (Darrell), and Wendi Miller.  Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and several other family members.

Shirley graduated from Monroe City High School in 1954. Shirley had previously worked as a proof reader at Western Publishing, as a C.N.A. and retired from working in the laundry department at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Elvin and Phyllis Campfield.

Shirley enjoyed   feeding the birds in the winter, watching Jeopardy, doing word search and jigsaw puzzles.  Several years ago, Shirley enjoyed collecting and selling Hot Wheel cars.

Shirley was a charter member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Rensselaer.
