Sheron Marie Sherwood

Sheron Marie Sherwood, age 81, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 12:45 pm Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

The family will be hosting their own Memorial Service at a later date.

Sheron was born on October 9, 1944, in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Elmer and Martha McNutt.

She was united in marriage to Larry Sherwood. He precedes her in death.

Survivors include, her two sons, Larry Sherwood (Kendra), Joseph Sherwood (April); her grandchildren, Chasity Downs, Shoncinda Sherwood, Lantz Sherwood, Hanna Sherwood, Blake Sherwood, Grayson Sherwood, Criede Sherwood, Koden Sherwood, Kasen Sherwood, and Keaston Sherwood; and numerous great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sheron was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, and her sister Linda.

Sheron was a woman whose presence could light up a room. She never met a stranger and truly loved to talk-whether it was sharing stories, offering encouragement, or simply catching up with friends. Conversation came naturally to her, and through it, she built meaningful connections with everyone around her.

Sheron was actively involved and found great joy in her faith. Her church was not just a place she attended, but a family she cherished. She lived her beliefs through kindness, service, and a welcoming spirit.

Above all, Sheron loved her family-especially her grandchildren. They were the pride and joy of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Whether laughing together, sharing stories, or simply being present, her love for them was constant and unwavering.

Sheron also found happiness in the simple beauties of life. She loved driving, enjoying the open road and the freedom it brought. She had a deep appreciation for wildlife and spent many peaceful moments bird watching, admiring nature’s quiet wonders.

Sheron will be remembered for her warm heart, her lively conversations, her deep faith, and the love she poured into her family. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the faith she inspired, and the countless lives she touched.

Sheron was a member of The Crossing.
