Sarah Frances Sultzman

Sarah Frances Sultzman, nee Friday, was born on March 22, 1915, in Bunceton, Missouri to Charles Robert Friday and Mary Frances (nee Deuel) Friday. She died on July 4th, 2012. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Park United Methodist Church. Rev. Rebecca Dunger Peak will officiate. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6. She was married to Harold Louis Sultzman on November 3, 1933, in Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1978. Survivors include two daughters: Carolyn Lucas and husband John Lucas, of Pacific, Missouri, and Joyce Browne of Hannibal, Missouri; five grandchildren: Eric J. Browne (Regina) of Kendall Park, New Jersey; Jennifer B. Kreiter (Kurt) of Bedford, Massachusetts; Sarah (Sally) Anderson (Jason) of Quincy, Illinois; Hannah Clampitt (Steve) of Columbia, Missouri; Leah Scheidt (Brian) of Kimmswick, Missouri; and nine great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Nicholas and Nathan Browne; Zachary, Sheaden, and Aaron Kreiter; Charles Robert Anderson; Henry Francis Scheidt; and Willa James Clampitt. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Charles Robert, Jr., Harry, and Glenn Friday. Mrs. Sultzman was a 1933 graduate of Hannibal High School and a 1982 graduate of Hannibal LaGrange College. She was the payroll clerk for Midwest Mower Company for four years and then the general payroll clerk for Hannibal-Quincy Truck Lines, Inc., for twenty years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church, Lighthouse Chapter No.194, O.E.S., GFWC Study Club of Hannibal, and Mary D. Gordon Circle of Kings Daughters. She was a world traveler, an avid reader, and she had volunteered for RSVP, giving devotional programs at Beth Haven Nursing Home, then reading to the children at the Hannibal Public Library and lastly, volunteering once a week at the Mark Twain Museum and Gallery until May of this year. Pallbearers will be Jason Anderson, Steve Clampitt, Brian Scheidt, Doug Browne, Eric Browne and Mike Gully. Memorials may be made to the Park United Methodist Church, Mark Twain Museum and Gallery, or to the charity of the donor's choice, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
