Roger C. (Bud) Pollard, Jr., 85, of Hannibal, died at 8:01 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Rev. Steve Barker will officiate. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Roger was born on February 8, 1927, in Hannibal, a son of Roger C. and Jessie Raines Pollard. He was married to Mary Munson on March 11, 1950, in Hannibal and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter and two sons: Peggy Kupfer and husband Lee, of Cleveland, MO.; Charles Roger Pollard and wife Bobbie Hickman of Littleton, Co.; and George Pollard of Austin, Tx.; three grandchildren, April Pollard, Seattle, Wash., Krista Riley and husband Tom Riley, of Edgerton, Mo., and Dr. Robbi Kupfer and husband John Dishinger of Ann Arbor, Mi.; and a sister, Margaret Gilchrist of Huron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. Roger was a graduate of Hannibal High School, Class of 1944. He attended Culver Stockton College in Canton and Hannibal LaGrange College. Roger retired from the Missouri Highway Department in 1987 as a Materials Inspector. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army in 1946-1947, and a member of Emmette J. Shields Post #55, American Legion. He was also a member and Past Master of St. Johns Lodge #28, A.F. & A.M., and a member and Past Worthy Patron of Lighthouse Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and was an active member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hannibal. Roger enjoyed fishing, camping, sports and reading and he was very fond of his dog Sandy.
