Robert Andrew Lingwall

Robert Andrew Lingwall, age 84, of Hull, IL passed away at 8:10 am Monday, April 1, 2024, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held 10:00 am Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Akers Chapel Cemetery in Hull, IL.  Pastor JoAnn Ruff will officiate.

Robert was born on June 30, 1939, in Galesburg, IL the son of Andrew and Helen Lingwall.

He was united in marriage to June Dunker on February 5, 1967, in Hull, IL.

Survivors include his wife, June Lingwall of the home, two sons, Jay Lingwall (Leigh) of Lee's Summit, MO and Steve Bullington (Linda) of Sparta, GA, three grandchildren, Michelle Hart, Jacob Lingwall and Jayme Kersting (Tad), and four step grandchildren, Andrea Fifield (Steve), Ranie Youngblood (Kirk), Lisa Ann Bearden and John Owens (Jolene), and numerous great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Scott Kevin Lingwall, brother, Ronald Lingwall and daughter-in-law, Sally Lingwall.

Robert graduated from Galesburg High School and attended some college, then honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Professionally Robert worked as an electrician for Allied Chemical and BASF. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Hull Kinderhook Fire Department and served as Deputy Fire Chief and Safety Officer for several years.

Robert was known as a "fix it" man, and one could often find him tinkering in the garage. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Robert was always there to help at any time and was well known for his generosity. He truly loved his family and time spent with them and his grandchildren meant the world to him. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Robert was a member of Hull United Methodist Church.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Lingwall, James Murate, Tracey Martin and Tom Dunker.
