Robert M. (Bob) Jones

Robert M. (Bob) Jones, 71, of Hannibal, died at 3:40 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tues., Jan. 24, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of services Tues., at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Robert was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Worthington, Minn., to Ned R. & Lucille McLeod Jones. Survivors include a daughter, Laurie L. (Alan) Cowden of Decatur, Ala.; a brother, James N. (Joyce) Jones of Hannibal; 2 nieces, Rikki (Clint) Wright of Columbia, Cathy (Danny) Boteler of Liberty, Mo.; a nephew, Brian Jones of Hannibal; 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew and 2 grand-dogs, Coalie and Bogie. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. He retired as a machinist from Dura Automotive in Hannibal. He had worked at other manufacturing plants in Missouri and Illinois. He was a graduate of Hannibal High School, class of 1958. Robert was a member of Elks Lodge #1198 for many years. He enjoyed playing cards and pool. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
