Robert Glenn (Bob) Bailey, 80 ,of Hannibal, died at 10:40 a.m., Wednesday , December 5, 2012, at Monroe City Manor Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel in Hannibal. Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday Dec. 7th, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Bob was born on February 12, 1932, in La Belle, a son of Glenn R. and Thelma M. Thorpe Bailey . He married Katherine Ann (Kathy) McElroy on March 21, 1975, in Hannibal. She died on January 24, 2007. Survivors include cousins, Otto (Sissie) Bailey of Hannibal, and Renee Ellis and Jeff Bailey. Another cousin also survives, Michael Lingenfelter and his family of Fulton, MO. Bob grew up in La Belle and graduated from La Belle School and attended Gem City Business College in Quincy. He was a volunteer fireman with the La Belle Fire Department and was employed by Missouri Highway & Transportation Department for 42 years, retiring as a Supervisor. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving from March of 1952 to February of 1954, during the Korean Conflict. Casketbearers will be Bill King, Charlie Dean, Al Barnard, Ronald Wells, Birney Herrick and Mark Knickerbocker.
