Richard Lee Redman, 68, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 3:04 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel, in Hannibal.
Richard was born August 20, 1946, in Hannibal, Mo., the son of John Richard and Mary Dee (Gentry) Redman. He graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1965. Richard married Carol L. Ellis on August 20, 1965, at the Willow Street Nazarene Church in Hannibal.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Redman; one son, Craig Redman; and one daughter, Melissa Redman all of Hannibal, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Redman was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Contractor.
Mr. Redman worked for the Hannibal Board of Public Works until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, being outdoors, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Richard was a member of the Mark Twain Bassmasters. Richard and Carol attended the Riverview Nazarene Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Richards name to the James E. Cary Cancer Center, in care of the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
