Penny Sue Cramlett, age 72, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 2:54 pm Sunday, June 22, 2025, in her home .
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Pastor Gary Loomis will officiate. Burial will follow at Barkley Cemetery.
Visitation celebrating Penny's life will be held at 10:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday June 28, 2025 at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Penny was born on April 25, 1953, in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of Everett and Edna (Bowen) Dunn.
She was united in marriage to Joseph C. Cramlett on February 14, 1994 in New London, MO. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2002.
Survivors included two daughters, Kelly (Steven) Charlton and Cassie (Travis) Adkerson; brother, Sam (Ginger) Dunn; three granddaughters, Jessica Kreider, Stephanie Charlton, Amy Adkerson; grandson, Seth Adkerson; and her special friend, Cathy Craven.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joseph C. Cramlett.
Penny graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1971 and went on to further her education at Hannibal Vocational Practical Nursing School.
Professionally Penny worked as a LPN for many places including Willow Care, Hannibal Regional Hospital and Beth Haven. She also worked for American Safety.
Penny was a proud member of Mission Hill Baptist Church.
Penny was a devoted grandmother, a woman of deep faith, and a cherished member of her community. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, whose lives she touched with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Known for her gentle spirit and kind heart, Penny was a wonderful grandmother whose presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
She also found companionship and peace in the simple moments shared with her beloved cat, Max. Whether it was a quiet morning or a cozy evening, Max was never far from her side.
Penny’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active and loving member of her church, where she found strength, purpose, and fellowship. Her unwavering belief and commitment to her faith inspired those around her.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice or Mission Hill Baptist Church, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
