Michael Anthony Ortiz, 51, of Center, MO formerly of Joplin, MO passed away at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Westview Nursing Home in Center. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, in Hannibal. A memorial service is being arranged by the family in Queens, NY at a later date. Michael was born on July 6, 1966, in Woodside, NY the son of Anthony Colon and Elizabeth Ortiz. Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Ortiz of Queens, NY; partner, Angela K. Madison of Joplin, MO; three brothers, John Castellano of Queens, NY, Angel Huertas (Guadalupe ) of Queens, NY, and Reynaldo Huertas of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Deborah Wegehoft (Kenneth) of Hannibal, MO, and Maria Christina Rodriguez of Queens, NY. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Francisca Ortiz. Michael was an artist by trade. He enjoyed designing graffiti art and tattoo's. He also enjoyed listening to music. Michael cherished the time spent with his friends and family. Mr. Oritz's was a Christian by faith.
