Mary Kennedy of Hannibal, MO passed away at 4:28 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Willow Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Pastor Mark Albee will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Mary was born in Paris MO the daughter of Jesse S. and Mary Etta (Bishop) Woodson.
She was married to Jerry Don Kennedy. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include three children, Judy Kennedy of Salt Lake City, UT, Kendal Alan Kennedy and wife Suzanne of Coralville, IA, and Loren Kelly Kennedy and wife Carla of Hannibal, MO; brother, Otis Woodson and wife Vonda of Hannibal, MO; grandchildren, Terry Lynn Rodeback, Ryan Kennedy, Shawn Kennedy, Megan Smashey and Tori Jones; great grandchildren, April, Jessica, Bradley, Danielle, Mackenize, Terrance, Kennedy, Sophia, Carter, Amaya, Auston, Alivia, Torryn, Zoey and Jackson; great-great grandchildren, Hayley, Trinitee, Devin and Keeton; lifelong friend, Ginny Seabaugh; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, Nannie, Matalene and Virginia, and one great-great granddaughter, Kennadee Bateman.
Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mary was also a member of the RSVP and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Veterans. She served as President of the local BNSF Veterans for 8 years and served as President of the Chicago region for 1 year. Mary enjoyed cooking and traveling, but her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Promise Foundation or Immanuel Baptist Church, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel
Pallbearers will be Ryan Kennedy, Terry Taylor, Wade Taylor, Gary Woodson, DeWayne Melloway and David McWilliams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Kennedy, Terrance Smashey and Auston Jones.
