Martha Ann Fredd, 81, of Hannibal, died at 9:02 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 17, 2011, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Rev. Steve Barker will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Mrs. Fredd was born Nov. 8, 1930 in Hannibal to William Ralph and Mary Elisabeth White Reid. On Sept. 3, 1955 in New York, New York she married Raymond A. Fredd and he preceded her in death, Jan. 23, 2001. Survivors include four children, Ralph A. Fredd and wife Cindy, of Hannibal, Elisabeth E. McCarty, of Columbia, Mo., Barbara Ann Caruso and husband Michael, of Manchester, N. H. and David R. Fredd and wife Sharon, of Tallahassee, Fl.; ten grandchildren, Rich Fredd and wife Erin, of Bradenton, Fl., Dena Fritz and husband, Rich, of Quincy, Il., Alex Fredd of Hannibal, Trevor Erb of Chicago, Il., Addie Erb of Fayetteville, Ar., Amanda Caruso and Zachary Caruso of Manchester, N. H., Mallory Fredd, Matthew Fredd and Max Fredd of Tallahassee, Fl.; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Evan Fredd, of Bradenton, Fl. Also surviving are two nieces. Mrs. Fredd was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Kathryn Reed. Mrs. Fredd formerly operated the Rialto Yarn and Kitchen Shop in the Corner Square in downtown Hannibal. She was the school nurse for Monroe City Public Schools for 19 years and had been a R.N. for Cornell Hospitals in New York City. She graduated from Monroe City High School and received her degree in nursing from Washington University in St. Louis. She was a member of the First Christian Church, P.E.O.
