Mark Anthony Burton, Sr.

Mark Anthony Burton, age 62, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 2:27 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

There are no services planned.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Mark was born on February 19, 1960, in Quincy, IL the son of Jack and Hazel (Williams) Burton.

Survivors include the love of his life; Angela Evans Burton of Hannibal, his four children; Misti Nichole Burton, Mark A. Burton II, Nathan Ryan Burton, Dustin Roy Burton, four bonus children he loved as his own; April Miller, Matt Surgeon, Kimberly Vahle and Stacie Vahle, nine grandchildren and ten bonus grandchildren he loved as his own and six great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is his brother; Gary L. Dabney, two sisters; Valarie J. Farlin and Jackie L. Burton, six nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Mark graduated from Quincy High School in the class of 1977 and attended college for two years. Mr. Burton honorably served his country in the Army from 1978 to 1980.

Professionally Mark worked at Park Place Signs.  Some of Mark's favorite things to do to pass the time was working on cars, fishing and hanging out with friends and family. Whenever the opportunity arose, he was ready to play a game of cards or darts. Mark always enjoyed taking a ride on his motorcycle whenever a chance came along and belonged to the Goldwing Club of Quincy.  Family meant the world to him, but most of all, his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Mark was a Christian by faith.
