Mari Lee Sturtevant, 94, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 9:28 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel in Hannibal. Pastor Ronn Pashia will officiate. Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery in Plainville, IL.
Visitation will be held Monday 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, Monday at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
Mari Lee was born August 15, 1919, in Richfield, IL the daughter of Pearl Martin. She graduated from Payson High School in the class of 1938. Mari Lee married Jesse H. Sturtevant on April 15, 1939, in New London, MO. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1971.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria L. Spurgeon of Paris, MO; six grandchildren, David Hagan (Kim) of Hannibal, MO, Michael Hagan and (Michelle) of Hannibal, MO, Kristina Baumer (Luther) Denver, CO, Cory Sturtevant (Stacy) of Quincy, IL, Jess Sturtevant of Bradenton, FL, and Lori Koppelberger of Chicago, IL; four great grandchildren, Jane, William, Ryan and Sean; and one great-great grandson, Carter.
In addition to her mother and husband Mrs. Sturtevant was preceded in death by one son, Ronald E. Sturtevant and one brother.
Mari Lee worked several years at Heiser Jewelry Store in Hannibal. She enjoyed flowers, bird watching, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Sturtevant was a Christian by faith.
Memorials may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society or Habitat for Humanity, in care of Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
