Margarethe Danielsons

Margarethe Danielsons, 96, of Hannibal, Mo. passed away at 7:42 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Luther Manor Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Pastor Kenneth Schamber will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. Margarethe was born on January 15, 1918 in Schwerin, Germany the daughter of August and Frieda (Grunberg) Tesch. She was married to Arvids Danielsons and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1979. Survivors include three sons, Andris Danielsons (Joanne Moranville) of Easton, Pa; Thomas Peter Danielsons (Jane) of Hannibal, Mo. and David Danielsons (Robbin) of Cincinnati, Oh; seven grandchildren, Meghan Danielsons, Arvids Danielsons, Emily Danielsons, Elisabeth Danielsons, Amy Danielsons, Sarah Danielsons and Paul Danielsons. In addition to both her parents and husband she is preceded in death by four sisters. Mrs. Danielsons was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She served as Secretary and Treasurer for Riverside Cemetery Association from 1983-2009, Margarethe also served as Treasurer for the Hannibal Arts Council. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting, playing and listening to classical music. Memorials may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society or Riverside Cemetery Association, in care of Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
