Lucia Anne (Willmann) Kinsey

Lucia Anne (Willmann) Kinsey, age 76, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 4:28 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at Luther Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, March 14, 2025, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.  Pastor Tom Day will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation celebrating Lucia's life will be held 10:00 am until 11:00 am Friday at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Lucia was born on November 3, 1948, in Hannibal, Missouri the daughter of Elmer and Marion (Sparks) Willmann.

Survivors include her son, John Kinsey, grandson, Andrew Kinsey; brother, John Willmann (Sharon), niece, Hannah Sullivan (Patrick) and nephew, Thomas Willmann (Sara). Other survivors include her great nephew and niece, Finn and Lily Sullivan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, James Joshua "Josh" Kinsey.

Lucia graduated from Hannibal High School and went on to further her education at Hannibal LaGrange College and Quincy University.  As a teenager, Lucia attended the Midwest Music & Art Camp held on the campus of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas where she later attended to further her education.

Lucia had a profound love for nature, animals, art, especially watercolor painting and her dogs. She was a master gardener whose green thumb brought beauty to every garden she touched and an avid reader who could be found at the Hannibal Public Library several times a week.  Lucia also dedicated time to serving as court-appointed special advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will truly be missed.

Lucia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
