Kenneth G. Wilson, age 70, of Monroe City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at 5:18 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at his home.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date in the Grand View Burial Park.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel of Hannibal.

Kenneth was born on July 2, 1955, in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Edgar Francis Wilson and Mary Louise (LaFever) Wilson.

He is survived by his dear friends, Patty Light, Kurt Haner, Kim Sanderson and their families, as well as numerous friends and colleagues whose lives he touched throughout his career.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and his close friend, Jim Light.

Kenneth dedicated much of his professional life to serving his community. He began his career as an accountant for the Hannibal Public School District, where he worked from 1977 until 2007. He later served with Community State Bank in Bowling Green and the Clopton School District before returning home, where he was employed by Wade Stables P.C.

Outside of work, Kenneth embraced life with a spirit of adventure. He loved traveling, especially aboard historic riverboats, including memorable trips on the Mississippi Queen. He also enjoyed collecting classic automobiles, unique clocks, and other antiques. Spending time boating on Mark Twain Lake was among his favorite pastimes and brought him great joy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Leaps of Love or the NEMO Humane Society, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
