Kelly Sue Nichols (Barlass)

Kelly Nichols (Barlass), age 61, originally of Hannibal, MO, passed away on May 19, 2026.

A memorial service remembering Kelly will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 am at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

The family is being served by Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Kelly Sue Nichols (Barlass) was born December 18, 1964, to Carl (Pete) Morgan and Betty (Douse) Bartlett.

Survivors include her father Pete Morgan, 2 sons Johnny (Genna) Nichols, Joshua Nichols, and 1 daughter Jessica Nichols. Kelly also had 21 Brothers and Sisters, 7 Grandkids, and 2 Great Grandkids

Kelly is proceeded in death by her husband Mark Barlass, her mother, 2 sisters, and a grandchild.

Kelly was a free spirit. A loving adventurous person. She held many titles, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She spent her life, loving her family and friends. She cherished every moment with her family and friends from phone calls lasting hours to long drives for gatherings. 

Kelly enjoyed the outdoors. Days at the beach to riding on the back of a motorcycle or just a live band somewhere. Kelly was not scared to be herself and have a good time. From her dancing and singing or riding water slides in her 60s. She always had a smile on her face.
