Karl Eugene Kramer, 72, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 3:49 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Masonic Temple in Hannibal. The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel in Hannibal.
Karl was born March 3, 1942, in Effingham, IL, the son of Kenneth L. and Jewel Ferne (Boozer) Kramer, Sr. He graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in 1960. He married Jean Ann Hills on May 3, 1960, in Popular Bluff, MO.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Ann Kramer of Hannibal, MO; four daughters, Karla Jean Davis (Terry) of Rolling Meadows, IL, Dorothy Jane Cornelius of Cleveland, OH, April Elaine Dodd (Mike) of Shelbina, MO and Debra Faith Kramer of Lake Zurich, IL; one brother, Kenneth Lee Kramer, Jr. (Ruth) of Sun City, FL; one sister, Dorothy Ferne Shreffler of Sequim, WA; nine grandchildren, Valerie Carr, Shawn Davis, Zachary Davis, Erin Cornelius, Jason Dodd, Adam Dodd, Meghan Jacobson and Nathan Jacobson; five great-grandchildren Bramwell Carr, Jonas Carr, Ethan Carr, Zoe Davis and Easton Davis; and two nephews.
Mr. Kramer was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant brother Charles Kramer.
Karl was a member of the Hannibal Masonic Lodge #188. He attended church at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, Quincy, IL. When Karl was eight years old he was chosen as the poster boy for Dr. Pepper. He enjoyed tinkering, model trains, Cardinal Baseball, loved flying, diving and being a volunteer fireman. Karl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Kroc Center, Quincy, IL, in care of Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
