Juanita "Nana" Loehrke

Juanita "NaNa" Loehrke, 106, Palmyra, MO passed away at 2:25 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel in Hannibal. Rev. Nathan Markley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Juanita was born June 29, 1910 in rural Hannibal, MO to Claude and Edna Mae (Stolte) Graves. She united in marriage to Roy J. W. Loehrke on January 26, 1927, in Hannibal at the Rev. John Golden residence. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1985. Survivors include one daughter, Jo Ann Jackson, of Palmyra, MO; granddaughters, Linda (Glenn) Schaefer, of Hannibal, MO, and Janet (Raymond) Taylor of Palmyra, MO; three great grandchildren, Cherie (Jeff) Seyfarth of Centerton, AR, Brandy (David) Goodwin of Mascoutah, IL, and Scott Schaefer of Centerton, AR; seven great- great-grandchildren, Coltin and Devin Seyfarth, Tristan and Kaeli Goodwin, Andrew and Elijah Schaefer and Patience Johnson. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Loehrke was preceded in death by a son-in- law, Donald Jackson. Juanita grew up in rural Hannibal on a farm. She attended grade school at Rowe School in rural Hannibal and attended two years at Big Creek School in Rensselaer. She enjoyed cooking, raising her own garden, and attending church. She took great pride in being a farmer's wife and in her family. Juanita was lovingly known to many people as "NaNa". She was a life-long member of the Big Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was the oldest member. Pallbearers will be Jeff Seyfarth, David Goodwin, Scott Schaefer, Coltin Seyfarth, Devin Seyfarth, Tristan Goodwin, and Andrew Schaefer. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaeli Goodwin, Elijah Schaefer and Patience Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Creek Presbyterian Church or the Maple Lawn Auxiliary.
