John Robert Bush Merker

John Robert Bush Merker, age 60, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 10:10 am Sunday, January 17, 2021, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

John was born on September 8, 1960, in Hannibal, MO,  the son of Robert Earl and Lula Mae (Powell) Bush.

He was united in marriage to Anna Lockett on October 27, 1991. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2010.

Survivors include his mother and step father; Lula and Mark Wellman of Camp Point, IL; sisters; Pauline Scott (Peter) of Camp Point, IL, Lori Roberts (Jesse) of Clayton, IL and Teresa Staley (Robert) of Quincy, IL; six nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and wife.

John graduated from Liberty High School in the class of 1979.  He honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Gulf War stationed on a ship in the Mediterranean Sea.

John worked  for Otto Vending in Quincy as a stock driver before his health forced him to retire. John enjoyed playing golf and watching Tiger Woods.  He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, computers, boating and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
