Joan Kay (Shrum) Devlin, 46, of Hannibal, MO passed away at early morning on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Pastor Ty Williams will officiate. Burial with full military honors provided by the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55 will be in the Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Joan was born on April 8, 1971, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Jasper Shrum, Jr. and Linda Wessel.
Survivors include her father, Jasper Shrum, Jr. of California; mother, Linda Shrum; son, Devon Warthen and wife Katlynn; grandson, Nehemiah Warthen; sister, Josie Christal and husband Larry; stepdaughter, Charie Nesbitt; aunt Sharon Treaster; cousin, Heather Treaster; lifelong friend, Tonia Jones all of Hannibal, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joan was preceded in death by her grandparents Mary and Bill Wessel.
Shortly upon graduating from Hannibal High School in 1989, Joan joined the United States Army and proudly served her country during Desert Storm.
Ms. Devlin was presently working at General Mills and previously worked at Intermet in Monroe City.
Joan enjoyed her glass of wine and attending Lush 'n Brush parties with her friends. When time would allow she enjoyed traveling especially to a beach somewhere. She also enjoyed the love and companionship that her dog "Trixie" brought to her. Her biggest love was her family, especially her grandson Nehemiah.
Pallbearers will be Devon Warthen, Larry Christal, Brian Shively, Cole Williams, Jared Johnson, and Matt Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nehemiah Warthen, Herbie Christal, Lizzie Christal, and Tim Grafton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society or to the family, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
