Ina P. Swan

Ina P. Swan, age 95, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 9:56 am Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Beth Haven Nursing Home.

Graveside service and burial will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 17, 2024, at Grand View Burial Park. Bro. Dan Peters will officiate.

The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Ina was born on April 29, 1929, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee the daughter of Amos and Lucretia (Trentham) Ogle.

She was united in marriage to Benny R. Swan on September 24, 1949 in New London, MO. Benny preceded her in death on March 16, 2012.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Schroer (Gary) of Jefferson City, MO; granddaughter, Whitney Hayden (Shawn) of Springfield, MO : great-granddaughter, Olivia Hayden of Springfield, MO.

Other survivors include sister-in-law, Virginia Ogle of Center, MO and three nephews, Adam Ogle, Mike Ogle and Ron Dugan.

In addition to her husband Benny, Ina was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles Ogle and  niece, Barbara Ogle Baker.

Ina graduated from New London High School in the class of 1948.

Ina dedicated her life to being a wife,  mother, grandmother and a homemaker.

Known for entertaining her family and friends, Ina took every opportunity to make her homemade goodies.When she wasn't in the kitchen, she could be found attending to her flowers and garden. Family was Ina's heart, she cherished every moment spent with them, especially her granddaughter an great granddaughter.

Ina was a member of  Arch United Methodist Church.
