Hurley Farrell Daniels

Hurley Farrell Daniels, 77, of New London, Mo. passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, at Beth Haven Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel Mr. Daniels was born on the family farm on May 13, 1936, in Pike County, Mo. the son of Charles R. and Lola Alice Glascock Daniels. He graduated from New London High School in the class of 1954. He married Beverly Jane Treaster on June 1, 1958 in Hannibal. She survives him. Survivors include his wife, Beverly of New London, Mo.; three daughters, Beth Hudelson (Brad) of Hannibal, Mo., Sara Abel (Mark) of Hannibal, Mo. and Janie Willing (Steve) of New London, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Megan Gilbert, Molly Hedges, Ethan Hudelson, Bryan Willing, Stephanie Willing, Abbey Willing, Alec Abel, Emily Abel and Sydney Abel; one great granddaughter, Addilyn Hedges; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by two brothers, Jewell and J.C. Daniels; three sisters, Vasca Beal, Mattie Foehringer and Nova Dinning. Hurley was a lifelong Ralls County Farmer, raising cattle and grain. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Hurley loved farming and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brad Hudelson, Ethan Hudelson, Mark Abel, Alec Abel, Steve Willing and Bryan Willing. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Gilbert, Patrick Hedges, George Daniels, Donnie Daniels, David Dinning and Dan Dinning. Memorials may be made to the Loaves and Fishes or Douglas Community Services Food Pantry, in care of Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
