Herbert Lee Stewart, 93 of Hannibal died at 11:15 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, the Rev. Jeff Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Mr. Stewart was born September 12, 1919 in Hannibal, Missouri the son of Phillip and Martha Rhodes Stewart. Herbert married Mary Holiman on July 24, 1945 in Pine Bluff, AR. Survivors include his wife Mary Stewart of the home; one son, Michael Stewart and wife Kathy of Hannibal, MO; three grandchildren, Charles M. Stewart and wife Laura of Hannibal, MO, Joshua W. Stewart and wife Melissa of Mexico, MO and Clara J. Stewart of Hannibal, MO; four great grandchildren, Macy, Alice, Ava and Lainey Stewart; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Phillip Stewart; and two sisters, Lillian Lucas and Dorothy Head. Herbert attended Antioch Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Herbert was a lifelong Ralls Co. farmer. He enjoyed farming, cutting wood and spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
