Gary F. Bush

Gary F. Bush, 72, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 3:52 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at his home. Graveside service and burial will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Grand View Burial Park. The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. There is no visitation being held. Gary was born to Benjamin and Leona Brashear Bush on January 18, 1944, in Hannibal, MO, raised in a family with six sisters. He was married to Mary Jane Bleigh Bush, who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Terri Ann Udelhoven (Mark) and one son, Jeffery J. Bush (Amy). He is survived by four grandchildren, Jessica N. Aggers (Karl), Stewart J. Bush (Sarah), Todd B. Udelhoven, Tyler A. Bush, and one great granddaughter, Sophia A Aggers. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Bush graduated from Hannibal High School in 1962. Gary went on to serve his country in the Army during Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a retired Postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Bush was a member of the First Christian Church of Hannibal. Gary was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #16 and the American Legion Post # 219 both of Memphis, MO. Gary enjoyed playing golf and bowling with his friends. Taking care of his yard and trees was a passion of his. Most of all Gary loved vacationing and spending time with his family. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Bush, Mark Udelhoven, Stewart Bush, Tyler Bush, Todd Udelhoven and Karl Aggers. Memorial contributions may be made to the James E. Carey Center, in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
