Evelyn Edith Dugan

Evelyn Edith Dugan, 83, of Hannibal, Mo. passed away at 5:00 AM, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Luther Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel, Pastor Michael Stoerger will officiate. Burial will be in the Barkley Cemetery in New London. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Evelyn was born September 19, 1930 in Hannibal, Mo. the daughter of Harvey Duff and Mary Edith (Foutes) Shepherd. She married Robert L. Dugan on March 18, 1952 in Hannibal, Mo. He survives her. Other survivors include one son, The Rev. Shawn L. Dugan of Clifton Park, Ny; one daughter, Stacey Johann of Hannibal, Mo; one grandson, Jacob Edward Johann of Hannibal, Mo; one brother, Olin Duff Shepherd and wife Cheri of Gravois Mills, Mo; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dugan was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathryn Stout. Evelyn was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She previously was member of Arch Street Methodist Church. Evelyn was a member of Friends of Historical Hannibal, she enjoyed doing decorative art work, reading, gardening and being at home with her family and friends. Pallbearers will be Jacob Johann, Rob Fitch, Mike Shepherd, Jim Taylor, Dave Andel and Larry Stout. Memorials may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church, in care of Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
