Eva Minnick Walker, 97, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 6:34 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Luther Manor Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Antioch Cemetery in rural Hannibal. Pastor Jack Emmitte of Antioch Baptist Church will officiate.
The family is being served by the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel. There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Walker was born January 29, 1917 in Marion County the daughter of Charles and Ida Harrison Minnick.
She married Harold W. Walker on May 18, 1934 in Hannibal. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1986.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Lubbering of Kirksville, MO, Joyce Lear (R. Donley) of Hannibal, MO and Marilyn Sue Hull (Jack) of Quincy, IL; six grandchildren, Michael Lubbering, Tracey Lubbering (Jeanee), Cynthia Hull Sexton, Kim Lear Muehring (Tim), Todd Lear (Ann) and Bruce Lear: six great grandchildren, Chris Sexton, Desi Lear, Abbie Lear, Maggie Lear Bestgen (Nick), Cason Muehring (Casey) and Laura Muehring St. Clair (Aaron); five great great grandchildren, Blaire Bestgen, Carl Muehring, Hunter St. Clair, Addison St. Clair and Harrison St. Clair; one brother, Charles Minnick (Imogene) of Prescott, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews of the Walker and Minnick families survive.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen Myers and Almeda Minnick; two brothers, Elmer Minnick and Harold Minnick and one son in law, Ernest Lynn Lubbering.
Eva was a homemaker and traveled to many areas of the United States with her husband and daughters. She enjoyed family gatherings and church activities.
Mrs. Walker was the oldest member of the Hannibal Mt. Zion Christian Church, having joined in 1926 at the age of nine years old. She was a member of the CWF at Mt. Zion
Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Lear, Bruce Lear, Don Lear, Jack Hull, Tim Muehring, Cason Muehring, Aaron St. Clair and Nick Bestgen.
Memorials may be made to the Antioch Cemetery Association, in care of Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
