Ervin "Guy" Lee Shaw, age 49, of Liberty, IL passed away Friday, January 16, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Cremation arrangements will follow the service.
Visitation celebrating Guy's life will be held 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Ervin was born on December 15, 1976, in Jacksonville, IL the son of Kenneth Homer and Barbara Sue (Schreiber) Shaw. Ervin was united in marriage to Teresa Barger Paszkiet on June 23, 2023, in Hannibal, MO. She survives him.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Richardson, Dalton Shaw, Kenneth Shaw, and Landon Shaw; stepchildren, Christina Paszkiet, Cameron Paszkiet, and Christian Paszkiet; seven grandchildren; brothers, Aaron Shaw and Rusty Shaw; sister, Tabitha Ainsworth; nieces, Brooke Miller, Dezirae Shaw, Tessah Nichelson, Faith Fletcher and Chenoa Shaw.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Wayne "Little" Shaw and Michael Shaw.
Guy was a jack of all trades, anything from helping people with their home projects to turning wrenches on anything with a motor. Away from working, Guy enjoyed hunting for geo's, hiking, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. Horse training and horse racing was another passion of Ervin's. Family and friends were his biggest love of his, he was always the first one to a gathering and the last one to leave. Fourth of July was one of Guy's favorite holidays to spend with his family and friends.
Guy was a simple man whose legacy will be remembered by all who knew him. He touched countless lives through his willingness to help anyone in need and through the deep love he held for his family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Yanczer, Jim Crane, Greg Shaw, Jordy Shaw, Robert Scroggins and Kaleb Johns.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
