Elaine Georgette Woodard

Elaine Georgette Woodard, age 95, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 10:22 pm Friday, December 16, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

There will be no in person services held at this time. In lieu of a service, an online video tribute will be posted at www.smithfuneralhomeandchapel.com

Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel of Hannibal.

Elaine was born on August 24, 1927, in Benton Harbor, MI the daughter of Edward George and Olga (Silberman) McClellan.

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Koch of Hannibal, MO; three sons, Russ Rasmussen of San Diego, CA, Mark Rasmussen (Cherree) of Westmont, IL and Todd Rasmussen (Maria) of San Diego, CA; sister, Marjorie Wright of Homewood, IL; six grandchildren, Sara Rasmussen, Adam Rasmussen, Bryan Rasmussen, James Koch, Gavin Rasmussen and Brooke Rasmussen and three great-grandchildren, Hope, Ember and Aspen.

Mrs. Woodard was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Rasmussen; second husband, Thomas Peek; third husband, Jay Woodard and three sisters, Lois, Nonee and Barbara.

Elaine worked as Office Manager for the United Church of Christ in Westchester in the Chicago area before her retirement.

Elaine loved going on family vacations and trips to her family’s cottage in Michigan that her father designed and built.  She enjoyed remodeling and decorating her homes, playing cards especially Bridge, preparing for family gatherings, cooking and entertaining for friends and family, and eating out at restaurants.  Animals were another love of Elaine's, she cherished her dogs and was always a big supporter of animal shelters.

Mrs. Woodard was a Christian by faith.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Missouri Humane Society in honor of her dog "Pumpkin", in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel
