Edward S. Cunningham

Edward S Cunningham, age 84, of New London, MO passed away at 4:05 am Friday, May 23, 2025, at St. Louis University Hospital.

A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 am Friday, May 30, 2025, at  Hydesburg United Methodist Cemetery. Pastor Tom Lemon will officiate.

The family is being served by Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Edward was born on August 1, 1940, in Louisiana, Missouri the son of Everette and Mary (Inlow) Cunningham.

He was united in marriage to Anna Ruth Maple Cunningham, and they were married for 63 years. She survives them in death.

Survivors included wife, Anna Ruth Maple Cunningham, two brothers, Larry Cunningham, John Cunningham; sister, Georgia Cassidy; two sons, Edward S Cunningham, Jr., Chad Cunningham; two daughters, Laura Griffen, LaVon Inman; four granddaughters, Natalie Lamb, Rachel Cunningham, Hannah Cunningham, Holly Cunningham; six grandsons, Blake Cunningham, Ian Griffen, Ethan Cunningham, Brett Inman, Nickolas Cunningham, Samuel Cunningham; and eight great grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Cunningham; nephew, Rodney Maple, and great-granddaughter, Shaylin Cunningham; .

Edward graduated from Hannibal High School in 1958.

Professionally Edward worked for Parson's Construction in his early years. Then worked for Atlantic Building System for twenty-three years. Then later retired from American Cyanamid after working there for thirteen years.

Edward was a member of  Hydesburg United Methodist Church.
