Dwayne E. Harris, 75, of Hannibal, MO passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, September 23, 2013 at the First Church of The Nazarene. Pastor Mark Burkey will officiate. Burial will follow at Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home and Chapel in Hannibal, MO.
Dwayne was born April 24, 1938 in Hannibal, MO the son of Virden Edger and Cecil Jane Breedlove Harris. He married Sharon Fay Rhoades on April 8, 1962 at the New Salem Baptist Church in Winfield, MO.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Fay Harris of Hannibal, MO; two nephews, Mathew Harris and Mark Harris; three nieces, Donna Petre, Monica Ketcham, and Diane Hilton. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald Lee Harris and David Eugene Harris, Sr; one nephew, David Eugene Harris, Jr. and one niece, Theresa May Harris.
Dwayne owned and operated Dwayne's Body Shop in Oakwood for 22 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and was one of the founders of the Loafer's Car Club. He enjoyed doing body work on cars, fishing, boating, playing cards, and auto racing. Dwayne attended church at the First Church of The Nazarene.
Pallbearers will be Larry Stephen Penrod, Revo Dewayne Rhoades, Jr., Bryce Anthony Rhoades, Brent Nathaniel Rhoades, Bradford Pemberton, and Gary Dennison.
