She is survived by her three children: John Sanders and wife Sandra of Columbia Mo., Nancy Tippin and husband Morris of Medora, Ind., and Beth Kaufmann and husband Robert of Pleasant Plains, Ill., 6 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born November 6, 1920, in Hannibal to Walter and Rose Hubbard, who preceded her in death. She married Harry Sanders on November 9, 1941, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2011. Harry preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary Wilson, a brother Richard (Bud) Hubbard, an infant brother, and a granddaughter. She worked as a secretary in many places during the depression and throughout WWII, but her job as secretary at Seymour HS, Payson Ill., is the one that most people remember her for. She loved her job and the staff and the students who passed through the doors. For years, she, Harry, and their children were members at Akers Chapel Church of Christ, Plainville, Ill., where she rarely if ever, missed a service or event that occurred, and invited and gave rides to any child that might not want to go alone. Dorothy also enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, camping, and going to sporting events of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorial Gifts may be made to Oakwood Christian Church or Shiloh Christian Childrenâa
