Dean Holliday, 78, of Hannibal went to be with the Lord at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Willow Care Nursing Center in Hannibal. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Arch United Methodist Church in Hannibal. Pastor David Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Arch United Methodist Church. Smith Funeral Home & Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Holliday was born on October 19, 1934, in New London, Mo. to James Arch and Margaret Epperson Holliday. His parents preceded him in death. He was married to Frances Doolan on June 21, 1953 in Hannibal, Mo. The couple made many lasting memories and were to celebrate 60 years of marriage in June. Mr. Holliday is survived by his wife Frances E. Holliday; son, Michael D. Holliday and his wife Whitney. He is also survived by his 2 grandsons, Reid and Harrison, which were the light of his life. Noble Coleman, Bonnie Holliday, Doris Holliday and Marge Holliday are also surviving brother and sisters-in-law as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the youngest in his family and his brothers and sisters, Earl Holliday, Myrl Coleman, Mildred Riggs, George Holliday, Bob Holliday, Ruth Miller, and John Holliday preceded him in death. Mr. Holliday owned and operated Associated Builders of Hannibal and constructed homes for over fifty years. He attended Arch United Methodist Church, where he was very involved in the worship choir. He was active in many sports, and an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching Saint Louis Cardinal Baseball and Mizzou Basketball with his son. Mr. Holliday was a member of the Hannibal Lionâa
