David Lynn Lucas

David Lynn Lucas, age 58, of Monroe City, MO passed away at 4:00 am Sunday, April 11, 2021, at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. Rev. Jason Young will officiate. Burial will be in the Ariel Christian Church Cemetery in rural Rall's County.

Visitation celebrating David's life will be held 1:00 pm until the time of the service Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

David was born on December 3, 1962, in Hannibal, MO the son of John and Peggy (Stone) Lucas.

Survivors include his spouse, Melissa Dowd; daughters, Ruthanne Lucas-Mettes (Jason), Summer Lucas and Miranda Lucas (Matt); sons, Zane Lucas and John Lucas (Stacy); stepdaughter, Jessalyn Dowd; brothers, Donald Lucas (Darla), Danny Lucas and Kris Lucas; grandchildren, Wesley Guard and Melanie Ray and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his parents. Professionally David worked  in the construction field as a roofer and laborer. David was a Christian by faith.

David was a simple man that enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, camping and mushroom hunting with his family.  David and Melissa also had a love for rock & roll music and enjoyed traveling around listening to area bands.  David's biggest love was his family and the time spent together with them he dearly cherished.

Pallbearers will be  Zane Lucas, John Lucas, Jacob Ronimous, Jason Mettes, Timothy Lucas and Travis Dennis
