Daniel Joseph Vaughn

Daniel Joseph Vaughn, 59, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 5:40 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at his home. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel. A musical tribute in honor of Mr. Vaughn will be performed by Tim Hart at 7:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Riverside Cemetery in Hannibal. Daniel was born June 10, 1955, in Topeka, KS the son of Daniel Eugene and Oleita Lorene (Meredith) Vaughn. Survivors include, one sister, Dana Nuckols and husband Ed of Hannibal, Mo.; one brother, Arlan Metzger of Hannibal, Mo.; one niece, Melissa Wahl of Hannibal, Mo.; and special friend, Cathy Hills of Quincy, IL. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by one brother, Max Metzger. Mr. Vaughn served his country in the Army. He worked as a laborer in the construction business until he was unable to due to his health. Daniel was an avid bowler. He enjoyed playing basketball, watching sports especially the Kansas City Chiefs, listening to music, reading and loved animals. Mr. Vaughn was a Christian by faith. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society, in care of the Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
